Hello,
My name is Olivia Coombs, and I am a History Honours graduate. I hope that you have enjoyed and learned from the selection of sources and the story that they tell on this website. They show a part of our local history that has been often overlooked and has only recently begun to gain more interest. This website was created as an easily accessible source for the public to use as they begin their research into the history and perspectives of the diverse populations who have called Abbotsford home.
This website has only been created with the support of professors Scott Sheffield and Robin Anderson who have created a program that allows students to gain access to archives and create these sources for our community. I must also thank the Reach Gallery Museum for allowing me to access their archives. The archives, and particularly the archivist Kris Foulds, were a wonderful help in locating the written and photographic sources that make this website possible. Final thanks go to the Abbotsford News for so diligently keeping records of their newspaper.
